“Without host families, this event would not be possible; they are the cornerstone of the Cal Ripken World Series.  Each year we have the opportunity to meet with teams and we enjoy hearing about their incredible host family experiences. These memories are a tribute to those who are generous enough to offer their home, time and effort in return for an opportunity to build relationships that last a lifetime.” – Cal and Bill Ripken

Wow - what a great opportunity to help the community and make new lifelong friends! I've been hosting Team Mexico for the last 5 years - along with several other Magnificent HdG families. Each and every family had a wonderful experience. In 2010 Team Mexico received the City of Havre de Grace Proclamation from Major Wayne Dougherty making them adopted citizens of HdG and declaring a week in September as TEAM MEXICO WEEK. He also thanked the Host Families for our dedication to not only our youth but to the youth of many nations. Will I do it again this year? You betcha!!!! All of their games are FREE! Opening Ceremony will be the 10th of August. Join us at the games! Join us as a Host Family! If you need to contact any of the Host Families, I'm sure we'd be available to answer any of your questions. Be part of the TEAM (Together Everyone Achieves More)! We're also looking for Ambassadors (Cheerleaders) to join the team. If you're taking Spanish in school, what a marvelous way to practice your Spanish with either Team Mexico or Team Dominican Republic. I'd like to also take this opportunity to thank the restaurants (MacGregors, Coakleys, Laurrapin Grille, all 3 La Toltecas, Golden Corral, Bob Evans) that have Sponsored meals for our Team and delicious deserts (Brusters Icecream). For 2012, Laurrapin Grille and Herbs on the Corner have already volunteered! You're greatly appreciated! Thank YOU! Alma Orive
