Around 8:40 p.m. deputies were called to the 1700 block of Paddock Court in Jarrettsville in response to a home invasion, according to a release from the Harford County Sheriff's Office.

When deputies arrived, they found a man in the basement of the home suffering from a stab wound, the release states. Police believe the man came in through the back sliding door then went to the basement, the release states.

Two men who live in the home then confronted the man and allegedly stabbed him in the stomach, according to the release.

The suspected burglar was flown by medevac helicopter to shock trauma for treatment of injuries that did not appear to be life-threatening.

Jarrettsville Volunteer Fire and Ambulance Company was also dispatched to the scene.

Deputies continued processing the scene and interviewing those involved late into the night.

It was unclear Monday night whether or not the most recent home invasion was related to an attempted home invasion in Bel Air that ended with injury Sunday.

I don't believe 2 makes a pattern, but having 2 break-ins in a few days that both involved the homeowner/resident getting cut/stabbed is a little troublesome.

Is there any indication that this could be related to the prior invasion in Bel Air? Scary turn of events in the past few days...

There has been speculation that this was a drug deal incident

I know for a fact that my brother's home off 165 was broken into twice this past winter. Both times it was suspected to be punks on drugs looking for items to sell for cash to support their drug habbits. It's only going to get worse. Busted my brother's home up pretty good taking metal and other objects. Police had a pretty good idea who it was but did nothing. Let's just say justice will be served if they attempt again.

In late September/early October, two homes on Nelson Mill Road were robbed within days of each other. Both times, daytime invasions when nobody was home. Heirloom jewelry and electronics stolen. One home was actually off the main road on a long private lane. This recent incident is scary as bodily harm occurred. Neighbors need to be vigilant and watch out for each other.

The kids in this county seem to have grown up w/ no morals. Probably cause mommy and daddy spoiled them . Spoiled kids hooked on drugs that don't get shit handed to them start making very bad decisions.

John, you couldn't be more wrong. Yes I have my bachelors, too. I went to U of MD where I studied Urban Development and business. Major news flash there are plenty of teens in Jarrettsville that are extremely spoiled. I know one on her 6th car because she has wrecked her past 5 in less the 4 yrs. How about all the Daddies leaving large farms to there sons or daughters. Even the businesses in the area stay in the family. If you don't think drugs are a problem in urban white kids your so sadly mistaken. It;s just out here Mommy and Daddy have the money to cover it up. Friends of my daughter who are in there early 20's are in there third trip to rehab so they didn't go to jail. That's because they were dumb enough to get caught with drugs three times and Daddy mortgaged the house for the expensive rehab place in Harford county. In a tough economy where Mommy and Daddy don't have the money to give them to support there habits there going to get the money from somewhere. Harford county wouldn't have a high end rehab center unless there weren't enough spoiled drug addicts to support it being here.

The same type of incident happened off prospect mill road about 2 months ago and the home owner pulled a gun on the intruder while he was halfway into the house, the police didnt even fingerprint the scene or try to track with a k9.

1. I said county. Both areas you mention reside in this county. 2. Most of the counties young addicts come from decent middle class families. 3. Extension of 2. Most addicts in this area are Caucasian.

People need to stop speculating and saying " this used to be a nice area"

John... you're mistaken. I know of pretty decent amount of people from Jarrettsville who had issues with heroin, etc... and they were all white kids who lived there.

All bickering aside, that guy who got stabbed deserved what he got. I would have done the same.

Hey John

I'm a African American who lives in a predominately white community in Bel Air and most of the crimes here are committed from young white males...so are they considered underprivileged as well !

I grew up in and lived in Jarrettsville until this time last year. It is a town where nothing happens. The stray robbery, drug bust, dui, etc. will be found anywhere, but you are talking about a town that literally has nothing. Jarrettsville has a police station and a dodge dealership. There is no attractions that bring people to the town because if you want something to do you drive to bel air. Its a small town, everyone is nice, most people know everyone, and everyone look out for each other. Very few towns still work that way. I am sure that if you were driving through Bel Air and saw a car broken down on the side of the road you would not stop. Many times i have seen a car broken down in J-Ville and every time i have pulled over and asked if they needed any help. That is how most of Jarrettsville operates.

hola buddie, out the crack pipe down. Why lie to us, Jarrettsville residents about you seeing crime whenever you come here. Bel Air has TONS more crime, it doesn't take an idiot to see that.

Home invasions and burglaries are on the rise and so people must take action to lower the chances of it happening to them. Three of the best things you can do to protect yourself and your property is to reinforce your doors and windows. 85% of burglars come through a door, so first off you should reinforce your entry doors with a door security device such as the Door Security Pro ( http://www.DoorSecurityPro.com ). 15% of burglars come through a window. I would highly suggest adding security window film to your windows. And finally, you need to get some type of personal protection device in case you are ever confronted by a burglar. Pepper spray is a good choice because it's easy to use and it's highly effective.

I will go back and revise my post since people clearly have a problem with how i presented it. Jarrettsville rarely has drug related problems. When compared to other to towns in the Harford County it is negligible. With this being said, just because people in your town or county have drug problems or are criminals does not mean everyone does. Harford County may or may not be the worst county with regards to drug problems but that does not define the people who live their. Just becasue i grew up in J-Ville or even Harford County does not make me and spoiled druggie who had everything handed to me. I personally worked for everything i own and i always have. That was the point i was trying to make. I will also say i agree with Take Responsibility! because Jarrettsville is a great place. This issue is such a big deal because it never happens in our town.

There is less crime in jarrettsville then Bel Air. Take a look at the police blotter. Regardless of that, crime can happen anywhere. The community where the first home invasion was considered safe too!

We just moved from bel air to jarrettsville and there is a bigger sense if community here than in Bel Air. Everyone is welcoming, a little bit smaller class size for my kids, going to the local stores vs the big box stores etc . Jarrettsville is considered the country with nothing to do! I'll take no traffic, larger properties and happy kids any day. It's how your kids are raised that will determine how they turn out. There are drugs in Fallston, Bel Air, Jarrettsville, Forest Hill and every other community.

Hey North County it is not an invasion when no one is home, it is called burgulary! I think they call Fallston High "Heroin High". How about all the spoiled kids taking their parents pills? Xanax, Percocet, Vicodin ect. Then we have Edgehood and Aberdump. Harford County is infested with drugs social status is not an issue. By the way most of the people that go to that "High priced rehab" (F.M) are not from Harford Co.

You know I've heard that before but I'm thinking this "heroin high" accusation comes from the same group of folks who love to hate the rich or anyone else they feel has more than they do. I'm sure there are kids at Fallston that have done heroin - but I'm also sure if it was the huge epidemic you claim that they wouldn't have consistently the highest test scores in the county. Try barking up another tree...

I grew up in Fallston/Harford County my entire life. This was unheard of when I was growing up. If you can't afford to live here you should not visit to cause trouble. There are plenty of areas where thugs can go to disturb the peace.

This is not the first issue at this house. The man, in his 20s (which lives with his parents, who's house this is) clearly has some major issues. No way this was random ..the location of the home is off the beaten path and the investigators at the scene seem to think they suspects knock on the sliding glass door and were let in. Since when do burglars knock? Lol. Get real people... its clearly a drug issue and the patents need to deal with their child because he is putting others in danger because of his poor choices.

There's crime everywhere it doesn't matter where you live anymore.. and it all falls back on the parents and how they raised their kids and the people they let their kids hang out with.. plain and simple
