A newly adopted Beagle slipped her collar in the Churchville area, and her new owners and shelter family are hoping for a safe return.
Jolene, a 2-year-old Beagle, was adopted from the Homeless Animals Rescue Team, or HART, based in Chantilly, VA less than two weeks ago, according to HART volunteer Lorelei Pate.
Jolene and her new family were visiting friends in Churchville on Tuesday, when she slipped out of her collar and ran away, Pate wrote in a message to Patch.
She was last seen along Maryland Route 22 between Harford Community College and Mt. Zion United Methodist Church.
The Beagle is about 26 pounds and spayed, but currently has no tags or micro chip. She is described as sweet but very shy, having lived most of her life on a chain.
Pate asks anyone who has seen the dog not to chase her, but to instead call 703-869-7803. As they roll in, additional details will be posted here.

She seems to be hanging around the Maryland Golf & Country Club on MacPhail Rd & at times travels up Brierhill towards Route 22/Churchville Road. The family, HART volunteers & a search dog were out today canvasing the area. Please continue to look but do not chase & calll 703.627.9931 & 703.869.7803 immediately if spotted. Thank you so much to everyone who has been sharing, looking & reporting!

Jolene has been found!!! She just couldn't pass up the local stinky fried chicken the ACO put in the trap last night in a new location based on all the sightings the wonderful citizens of Harford County called in. She was caught this evening, is skinny but safe & sound & is being taken to the humane society where her overjoyed owners will be picking her up as soon as they open. So happy this girl will have her happy ending & warm Christmas. Thank you so much to everyone out there who helped- we had sightings every day due to flyers, word of mouth, social media sharing, a front page story by Bel Air Patch, promotion by Humane Society of Harford County, Fallston Animal Rescue Movement & so many others. We couldn't have done this without you & are eternally grateful!!!
