Can you find out what the heck is happening at C. Milton Wright? My daughter is coming home almost daily with reports on fighting! Today's brawl involved a knife, stabbing, and the police! Then she told me about a 'riot' planned tomorrow in a stairwell between 1st and 2nd period - she did report it to the front office, and they are already aware, but YIKES!!

BRAC kids and/or poor parenting likely.

Yes please, our daughter is literally scared in school now. This is insane. Who is running the place there the kids or the authorities. If they can't get control they need a bigger police presence and lock some of these kids up and kick them out!!! I have called the school my next step is calling the superintendent.

Calling the Superintendent won't do anything, unfortunately. The principal there is one of his untouchables. Why was the C. Milton Wright principal selected as part of the HCPS "exploratory" trip to China, chosen to accompany the Superintendent? Find the answer to that and you'll find the answer as to why you can make all the calls to the school/Roberty Building you want without getting any answer of real substance. Until the school board acts to hold the HCPS and school administrators accountable for the way they treat staff, students, and parents, none of this will change.

The problem isn't BRAC kids or poor parenting, the problem is the leadership. The administration has no respect for the students, the culture is horrible, and the students aren't allowed to have any ownership of their own education and the facilities where that education is provided. That school has turned into a pressure cooker over the past 4 years under the current administration for staff and students alike. Want to stop these incidents? Make the school and classes a place where students WANT to be. (Former C. Milton Wright teacher who's writing this, btw). You can't have an environment where students (all students, not just the AP students) are not respected by the administration and expect to not have these types of problems which are borne out of anger and frustration.
