Bel Air Man Charged with Robbing Fallston Bank
A Bel Air man was being held in lieu of $150,000 bail in connection with a Monday morning bank robbery.
A Bel Air man was arrested and charged Monday after a bank robbery in Fallston and a car crash in Baltimore County, police said.
Julius Elmo Montgomery, 30, of the 1800 block of Selvin Drive, was charged Monday with robbery and theft less than $1,000 in connection with a robbery at BB&T Bank, police said.
Around 9:25 a.m. a man walked into the BB&T Bank in the 2400 block of Baldwin Mill Road in Fallston, according to Monica Worrell, public information officer with the Harford County Sheriff's Office.
The robber handed the teller a note, demanded money, then ran out the door with an undisclosed amount of cash, Worrell said.
While there were several employees in the bank at the time, no one was injured, Worrell said.
Sheriff's deputies arrived at the bank a short time later in response to the alarm an employee activated.
Within half an hour, a vehicle matching the description of the one used in the robbery was involved in an accident in the 13000 block of Baldwin Mill Road, just over the line in Baltimore County, Worrell said.
Baltimore County police and Harford County sheriff's deputies both responded to the crash, she said.
Police found evidence of the robbery at the scene of the crash, Worrell said.
