Boulevard At Box Hill Anchor Could Soon Be Announced

No decision has been made on what will join Wegmans as the second anchor store in the Boulevard at Box Hill shopping center.

For now, Wegmans stands as the lone anchor in the Boulevard at Box Hill, but a new name may be announced within the next month.

“We have not selected the second anchor for the Boulevard," Tom Fidler, senior vice president and principal of MacKenzie Commerical Real Estate Services, the Boulevard's consulting and leasing agent, said Friday.

Fiddler said MacKenzie Commercial Real Estate is in discussion with several national retailers, and the company is working to decide what phase three of the project will look like.

Fiddler could not disclose which retailers were among the options.

“We're still in the deliberation,” said Fiddler, adding that a decision could be made on the anchor store within the next month.

I had heard months ago, although maybe it was someone's wishful thinking, that JC Penney's was going in up there.

Slightly off topic........Whatever happened to the eatery that was supposed to go up on Rt. 924 near the Festival. It was to be a Sonic or a Checkers, I forget which, but there hasn't been any activity there for three months.

Last I heard, the utilities took a lot longer than expected to install and they are unable to break ground on the actually building until early spring. Once the building begins it shouldn't be too long.

Good luck people. The tentants will be the ones that offer the most money and the most attractive lease terms/length. What you all want as far as tenants are so far secondary it is not even funny! This banter is purely PR and free advertisiment for this center!

JCP is great! Also, would like to see Cosi, Macroni Grill, Ann Taylor Loft, Harry & David, Burlington just to name a few. Also, does anybody know when the DSW is opening?
