Dog Found In Fallston Area

Do you recognize this dog?

One local woman posted pictures to Patch of a dog that was found in the Fallston area Tuesday.

Lisa Palmere Parr posted the attached picture of a dog she found in the area of Belair and Mountain roads around 9 a.m. Tuesday morning.

The dog is described as well behaved with one blue eye and one brown eye. He is possibly a Husky and German Shepherd mix between the ages of 3 and 4 years old.

Take it to the local vet or shelter and they will scan for a microchip. Maybe this will help in locating the owner, :)

Tammy - that's a very, very good suggestion and something not considered because the chip is undetectable. Some people feel like an animal is at risk for being euthanized if taken to a shelter - that's not true for our local shelter. If the dog is healthy and friendly it's the best place for it because anybody searching for thier animal would look there first.

Please contact Operation Paws for Homes either by phone or facebook. Two dogs recently broke free from thier leashes or collars and havent been found. This may be one of them

The first thing they did was take him to the vet to see if he was micro chipped, but he is not. I am waiting to hear back from HC Humane Society- they believe they may know the owner!!!!

Lisa, you did the right thing having the vet check for a microchip and file a report with the HC Humane Society. Even if you don't surrender the dog to the shelter, they will contact you if an owner comes forward. Even if the dog is healthy and friendly, the shelter environment is not the best place for it to be under any circumstances. I hope with everyone working together the dog will be reunited with his/her family soon. Keep us posted!
