Exxon Shooting; Fatal 543 Accident

County Democrats were denied a say in redistricting while paint spilled into a local creek.

 

This was a busy week for Harford County authorities with the shooting at the Bel Air Exxon and a tragic car accident on Maryland Route 543. Also this week, a judge threw out a lawsuit from Harford County's Democrats while police were busy with a number of other cases.

1. Man Shot in Chest at Bel Air Exxon

An Exxon employee was still in Shock Trauma as of Tuesday after being shot in an attempted robbery. The suspect is still at large and Harford County residents have begun discussing their safety.

2. 1 Bel Air Resident Died, 3 Hospitalized in Accident

A woman died in a car accident on Route 543 near the Fountain Green Swim Club on Thursday.

3. Judge Throws Out Democrats's Redistricting Commission Lawsuit

Harford County Democrats will not be included in the upcoming county redistricting after their law suit was not accepted by a judge. The County Republicans had voted in February not to include Democrats in the redistricting.

4. Paint Spilled into Creek Along MA & PA Heritage Trail

The Harford County Hazardous Materials Response Team determined that white paint found in a drainage creek along the MA & PA Heritage Trail came from a group of painters washing their brushes into a drain on Broadway.

5. Man Accused of Robbery with Sawed-Off Shotgun

An Edgewood man was charged with a numerous offenses after a July 15 incident involving a sawed-off shotgun.
