So we basically have a million dollar parking lot right down the the street from a multi-level garage that's never full. Something about that doesn't pass the smell test. Putting a parking lot right on main street doesn't exactly add anything to ambience but I'm betting there will be a couple of "reserved for so and so" spaces.

They should sell those spots on eBay to the highest bidder for peak demand times.

Right behind this soon to be demolished building is the mostly empty parking garage. So what does the town do? Build a parking lot for a million bucks. Lord knows we don't have enough parking. After all, it is "1 block" to walk to the empty garage we already have.

Most expensive parking spaces in town...ought to paint the lines with liquid gold. Even if they eventually build a new government building wonder if anybody in government thought about what a horrible idea that is in the first place. You want a viable downtown you need retail shops and restaurants - a reason to bring walkers and strollers downtown in the first place. So for 4 years we have an empty lot and then on into infinity a government building bringing in no revenue, plus replacing what really belongs down there - shops and restaurants. How many ways can you spell stupid.
