Baton class registration, story time, and a community band — pick and choose from this week’s events.

BATON CLASS REGISTRATION

Where/When: McFaul Activity Center, Bel Air, Thursday, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Why Go: Sign your child up for the beginner, intermediate or travel competition class. Classes are held Wednesday nights at Bel Air Middle School.

Pricing: Varies by class ($55 to $105)

FAMILY FUN NIGHT AT THE Y!

Where/When: YMCA, 101 Walter Ward Blvd., Abingdon, Friday, 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Why Go: Enjoy fitness classes, a variety of games and activities, including a rock climbing wall, healthy snacks and giveaways.

Pricing: Free

HULA HOOP CONTEST

Where/When: Bel Air Farmers Market, Bel Air, Saturday, 9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m.

Why Go: For ages 1 to 100, bring your hula hoop to the first annual contest and win a $25 Visa gift card!

• DIAPER GANG STORY TIME 

Where/WhenHarford County Public Library, Bel Air Branch, Saturday, 10:30 a.m.

Why Go: Children's reading time is open twice a week (Monday and  Saturday), excluding holidays.

DROP-IN STORY TIME

Where/WhenHarford County Public Library, Bel Air Branch, Saturday, 10:30 a.m.

Why Go: Children's reading time is open twice a week (Wednesday and  Saturday), excluding holidays.

STORIES 'ROUND THE BIG COZY BOOK BENCH

Where/When: Harford County Public Library, Havre de Grace Branch, Saturday, 10:30 a.m.

Why Go: Bring your kids (ages 2 and older) for a weekend morning of listening to stories.

Pricing: Free

READING WITH KARMA DOGS

Where/When: Harford County Public Library, Havre de Grace Branch, Saturday, 11 a.m.

Why Go: Increase your children's interest in reading and help them build self-confidence by having them read to their newest four-legged friends!

Pricing: Free, registration required

BEL AIR COMMUNITY BAND

Where/When: Shamrock Park, Lee Way, Bel Air, Sunday, 4 p.m.

Why Go: The Bel Air Community Band performs a free show at the Humbert Amphitheater.
