Hannah Kriss, 18, Dies in Joppa Crash
The accident took place between Joppa and Fallston Aug. 14.
A head-on collision claimed the life of an 18-year-old John Carroll School graduate from Forest Hill Tuesday afternoon.
Around 2:14 p.m. a head-on collision took place in the area of Old Joppa Road and Mountain Road in Fallston, according to Sgt. Jeffrey Kloiber with the Maryland State Police Bel Air Barrack.
Hanna Mackensie Kriss, 18, of the 100 block of Theodora Court in Forest Hill, was driving north on Mountain Road when her 1999 Saturn crossed the double-yellow line in the area of Old Joppa Road, according to a release from state police.
The Saturn sideswiped one vehicle then crashed head-on into a second. Kriss was prounounced dead at the scene. The third vehicle caught fire following the crash and the occupants of that vehicle were taken to Baltimore area hospitals for treatment of injures that were not life-threatening.
Kriss graduated from John Carroll in June. She was working at Chick-Fil-A in Forest Hill and had long been involved with Vipers cheerleading where she was serving as a coach at the time of her death.
Police are not sure what caused Kriss to cross the center line.
