I don't know if it's over priced or not, but the tax bill is not a good way to determine home value. That's why a home appraiser and a tax assessor are two different beasts. Two owners of identical houses can be paying different rates, because one questioned the taxes and one didn't. It can be way off in either direction. The tax assessors have limited guidelines to work with, and one of them is what the neighboring homes are worth.

This is one of the original Finney houses built in the 19th century by the Reverend Finney of the Churchville Presbyterian Church. I believe the house also comes with several building rights on the property that, if subdivided, would add a great deal of value for the buyer.
