If i can help....Sometimes the upper part of the county has different conditions and therefor they make the decision county wide based on those conditions they do NOT delay/close based on towns but COUNTY wide....I realize some may get frustrated but....SAFETY to the students and drivers are first priority:) And for those who think it is safe in questionable conditions please realize.. when road conditions are questionable and you are driving back roads with with sometimes 30+ students and i am sure everyone has expereinenced a "UNEXPECTED" slide it can be VERY DIFFICULT to keep the bus on the road and maintain the safety of the kids....PLEASE remember all roads are not in the townships...Example 161,Lapidum Road,Earlton Road, just to name a few So please before you judge u must remember the call is based on a county wide road condition NOW drive safe and enjoy the week-end:)

Oh Please.......All day yesterday and all last night the weather channel on their hourly report never forecasted for the temperature to go below 35 at any point. Also they said the temperature would rise steadily from 4AM on. Maybe they missed science class where they didn't hear that water will not freeze above 32. The closest any near freezing temperatures got to Bel Air was 20 miles north of York, PA. Amazing!!!.

Townships? This isn't Pennsylvania, yo!

Did you not notice the copious amounts of salt dumped on the roads,.combined with above freezing temperatures the past week? Oh, I guess not.

If they invest in snow chains like the snowbelt states - no trouble for the buses making it

Well they ONLY went 2 hours late!!!!!!!!!Glad the county puts our kids and drivers on the top of their SAFETY LIST:) It amazes me the fussing on here about a 2 hour DELAY just to stay CAUTIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nanny state nonsense, one other school system and the Hereford zone of Baltimore county was delayed. Who was in the wrong here?

Pretty soon an overcast will cause early dismissal.because they aren't sure headlights on all the busses work correctly.

Yep, we're gonna' have to begin school session at least an hour later next year because it's too dark out in the morning. Bus drivers can't see, even with head lights on. Safety first, ya'know.

Another big argument for starting schools at 10AM is that It's also everyone's fault you are going to work in the morning rush hour before sun rise; is that children do not have enough attention span to pay attention to vehicular traffic when crossing streets, etc. etc.

Create a Hereford zone in Harford County. The school system is so afraid of law suits that it panics when there is a half inch of snow, maybe some icing near the Jarrettsville area, or the possibility of snow in the afternoon for an early dismissal. The kids just go to the mall anyway, nothing stops that. Geech.
