The family of a Bel Air resident and World War II veteran sponsored a hometown hero banner to honor his service.

Dorsey F. Hamrick of Bel Air served in the U.S. Navy in World War II. You can see his picture and the faces of other local men and women who have served in the U.S. military along Main Street in Bel Air.

Bel Air Patch will continue highlighting these heroes. Check back each day to see a new hometown hero.

The Hometown Heroes banners are a marvelous idea. They inspire me to actually WALK down Main Street so I can read each one! Thanks for featuring them on Patch.

Scott, Thank you. I see that you put them back up this year. MY father Dorsey Hamrick passed away on father day this year. I saw his banner is back up.
Thank you so much Tina Hamrick

Tina - I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your father, but I'm glad you enjoyed seeing him being honored again. Happy Thanksgiving!
