Kingsville Preps for 32nd Independence Day Parade
Floats will reflect this year's theme: "From Sea to Shining Sea, We Celebrate Freedom."
Candy thrown from floats, hand-shaking politicians and kids in their best red, white and blue gear—it wouldn't be the Fourth of July without it.
The Greater Kingsville Civic Association and Kingsville Volunteer Fire Company again plan to sponsor the 32nd annual Kingsville Independence Day Parade, community officials announced this week.

The holiday celebration begins at 10 a.m. on July 4 at the Bradshaw Road and Jerusalem Road intersection with free music and entertainment. At 10:50 a.m. the parade is expected to begin traveling from the Kingsville Volunteer Fire Company on Bellvue Avenue to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Opening ceremonies begin at 11 a.m.
This year's parade theme, "From Sea to Shining Sea, We Celebrate Freedom," was created by Talia Maria, a 6-year-old Perry Hall resident and first grader at St. Stephen School. She won a $100 savings bond.
Parade participants will compete for several awards, including the best interpretation of the theme.
Longtime Kingsville resident Eleanor Huson has been chosen as the 2012 grand marshal, with Bruce McCubbin serving as master of ceremonies and Christina Massimei singing the National Anthem.
