LETTER: Del. Glen Glass Restates Opposition to Walmart Move
Del. Glen Glass wrote a letter to the editor to again express his opposition to the proposed move of Walmart from Abingdon to Bel Air.
Walmart's proposed move from Abingdon to Bel Air has been a hot topic from the start, with some community members and government officials opposing the project.
Del. Glen Glass is among the elected officials against the move and this week submitted a letter to the editor about the issue.
"Moving the Wal-Mart is wrong because our quality of life is more important than Wal-Mart’s need to move," Glass writes.
You can find a full copy of his letter attached to this story.
Glass is a Republican representing District 34A which includes Havre de Grace, Aberdeen and Abingdon.

I think the proposed location is bad because it is adjacent to a fire-house. As Don MacLean – from the Fire and E.M.S station just said the new location would impact response times for saving peoples lives: “…Fire/EMS acknowledges there will be an increase in traffic in the area and that this will possibly increase Fire and EMS response times…”

The land is zoned accordingly. Wal*Mart should be allowed to use the property for a new store. Enough NIMBY.

Take the same amount of traffic that is currently at the Walmart near I-95 , and place it at RT. 924 & Plumtree road, grid lock ! What is wrong with the current Walmart ? nothing . so use it ......
