Kickoff for the AFC Championship is still 48 hours away.

But why wait for the action on the field? Patch is bringing the Ravens-Patriots to you in the form of a live chat at 1 p.m. Friday.

Join in and offer predictions and chat about whatever else is on your mind leading into Sunday’s AFC Championship.

We’ll have two Patch editors included in the chat—Owings Mills editor Alex Pyles and Havre de Grace editor Sean Welsh.

We will be happy to provide colorful, sports talk radio-esque chatter, but what’s sports radio without callers?

Tell all of your friends to join in, offer their opinions on the game, the key matchups and the media buzz surrounding both teams.

Will Tom Brady carve apart the Ravens, intimidating defense like nobody else? Do the Ravens have anyone to match up with the Patriots tight ends?

Can Joe Flacco and the Ravens passing game finally step up? Will Ray Rice be able to run free against the Patriots defense?

We can talk these topics and whatever else is on your mind.

Want to join in via Twitter? Use one of the following hashtags:

  • #AFCpatch
  • #ravenspatch

Check back Friday at 1 p.m., and we’ll kick off the conversation. Or enter your email in the chat widget and you'll get a reminder Friday when the chat launches.

EDITOR'S NOTE: The chat will not feature fans and editors from New England Patch sites, as this post originally stated.

Maybe we need just one hashtag? Or does the #AFCPatch include New England chatters too?

I hope you're wrong too Tim. I have the Ravens wining by 3-7 points, which will happen in the fourth quarter. I think they'll be pretty much tied quarters 1-3. We'll see.

Tim, you gotta have some positive rays in your heart for the Ravens. Remember 2010 and let's do it again! Block out those negative rays. Anybody heard who Tebow is "rooting" for?

You know, I had to pop down here and see the delusions for myself. My name is Bill Gilman. I'm the editor of Tewksbury.patch.com just outside Boston. To be honest, I didnt believe that there were those fans in such a purple haze that they believed the Ravens had a chance on Sunday. Don't bother checking Indianapolis hotel rooms folks ... Rob Gronkowski is too big, strong and fast and Ray Lewis is too slow and too old. PATRIOTS 34, RAVENS17.

Freddy, Freddy, Freddy .... we play a more refined game here in New England ... more civilized if you will. We simply prefer that our Mr. Brady stay upright ..... Now, i understand that Mr. Lewis and Mr. Suggs will be trying to do serious bodily harm to our QB but we simply cannot let that happen. I would say Tom throws for about 375 and 4 TD's.

All I'm saying let the boys play the game and not the zebra's. Because we both know Brady is the golden child of the NFL.
Now I will give credit where credit is due he is a outstanding QB. But lets face the Pats have not faced a team like Baltimore all season. I will give Brady 2 td's, but our Cool Joe will be on point this week and have 3 td's and a victory. Ravens vs 49ers Superbowl

Bill, remember 2010 and we will do it again. Your defense is not very good. If we chip Gronkowski and hit Welker hard off the line, Mr. Ngata, Mr. Johnson, Mr. Suggs and others will be having a face to face discussion with Mr. Brady in the Sack Room!

Reds

I don't see the Ravens winning this one. Our offensive line is weak and I'm not a big Joe Flacco fan. I just don't see Flacco taking us any further than he has. We have some pretty poor play calling and terrible clock management. When we can't burn at least sixty seconds off the clock from first down and only burn a few as we did in the final two minutes of the Houston game something is drastically wrong. And this isn't the first time this has happened over the past few games and seasons. I think we are about to see Lewis and Reed play what may be their last game

I did. Here's the edited post, at Emily's request:

'Dear Bill Gilman:
You do realize your defense stinks, right?

If the Ravens don't take you down Sunday, my Giants will two weeks from Sunday.
You KNOW this is true. So do your fellow Patsies fans. You can beat on our red-headed stepbrother Jets all day and it doesn't matter.

One thing the Ravens fans and Giants fans have in common is we both remember and appreciate that dumbfounded, incredulous look on Belicheat and Brady's face when they lose, and they don't understand why.'

As far as Reds calling out my previous comment goes: There's a difference between who I WANT to win, and who I'd put money on :) I'm a Giants fan first, Ravens fan second.

Either way, if the Giants get past San Francisco Sunday, 1/3 of Patriot fans will be on suicide watch.

Reds; No, you fail at reading comprehension.

My mind says one thing, my heart cheers for my mind to be wrong. I made this clear already.

Either way, the Belicheats are going down - whether its on Sunday, or two weeks from Sunday.

Reds

Don't try to be insulting bubba. My reading comprehension abilities are A-OK. It's your sports prognostication abilities that are out of whack. .

If you make the prediction that NE will win the game then stick with it and don't waffle. And yet you have managed to do that again in your latest reply by saying that either way the Pats are going down whether on Sunday or two weeks from Sunday.

By saying what you have just said you are saying the Ravens will or may win Sunday. You are in conflict with and negate your own prediction. Can you not understand that? You waffle more than Obama.

I don't think it will be that bad. Nobody not even the experts can pick the final score but I am surprised that NE isn't favored by 13 or 14 points. I have money on the game and I went with NE despite the fact I am a Ravens fan. I can separate logic from emotion so I'll stick with NE when it comes to money on the game. I had NE from week 1 going to and winning the SB anyway. We''ll see.

Pats have gone 3-1 against the Ravens since 2007. In 2010 The Ravens beat the Pats in NE by a score of 33-14

Flacco has been inconsistent as have the Ravens. The Ravens play good teams rather well and play horribly against subpar teams. Let's see who shows up Sunday.

Not to worry as the Pro Bowl is on January 29th The Super Bowl is on Feb 5

Ray Rice, Vonta Leach, Marshal Yanda, Haloti Ngata, Terrell Suggs, Ray Lewis and Ed Reed will all appear.

NE will also have seven players representing them in the game as well.

I won't give you that wishy washy "emo-ish" "My heart is the Ravens but my mind says New England" spiel. I see NE taking this game and the SB and that's where I put my money. Whenever I put money on the Ravens this year, the Jax, Tenn and San Diego games they blew it. Otherwise I did very well in the pools this year. So this week I went with the point spread and NE.

Poor play calling on that 3rd and 1 and they should have gone for the FG instead of the first down. Would have been the same result had they missed that one. . Flacco's interception didn't help the Ravens one bit as they were moving the ball and probably would have scored. Evans dropping the ball in the end zone wasn't the reason we lost nor was it Cundiff's missed FG. Our play calling in many cases is repetitive and predictable. We started moving the ball to the outside but for some reason went right back to the middle in a couple of key plays. The face mask penalty which led to Brady's touchdown didn't help either.

I never saw the Ravens beating NE anyway. I figured it would be a NY - NE Super Bowl.

truth be told about Ravens and others. Flacko proved he is a true contender and fans should shut up. he is a Qurter back and desrves the respect. Lewis a team leader and 16 years of rough ball have taken a step or two but he turned his life around after the episode years back and has been glue. Now for people like Suggs and all the other yahoo players who celebrate after each play are making the game disgusting Suggs athlete or not makes a tackle and then celbrates.. then they loose. Today football players are more concerned with looks and the celebrations and it sucks. Play well you will be noticed where have you gone Joe Montana Johhny U and others who really were the true hero's of the game. Stop dancing stop celebrating like jack-asses.. play ball~!!!!
