Biker Hit by Truck, Has 'Life-Threatening Injuries'

A motorcycle accident occurred in Forest Hill near the Klein's ShopRite on Saturday.

UPDATE (2:28 p.m.)—A 40-year-old man was flown to Shock Trauma with "life-threatening injuries" after crashing his motorcycle into a car that turned in front of him around noon in Forest Hill. The man was then hit by a pickup truck.

A Maryland State Police trooper said the man was driving the motorcycle north on Rock Spring Road when a silver Honda Accord made a left turn in front of him toward Myers Drive. The motorcycle operator crashed into the back of the Accord before he was hit by a blue Mazda pickup truck, also traveling south, according to the trooper.

The back of the Accord was significantly damaged and police later tore the dangling rear bumper off the car. There was also a dent on the front of the Mazda, but police could not confirm whether it was from the accident.

The motorcycle was removed from the road shortly before 2 p.m. The scene just south of Maryland Route 23 outside Papa John's and Subway was cleared shortly after 2 p.m. and Maryland Route 24 was reopened in both directions as troopers continued to investigate.

Rich Gardiner, spokesman for the Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS Association, confirmed the man's condition and said he was transported to Shock Trauma via Medevac.

Northbound traffic was redirected around the accident area and southbound traffic slowly passed through while police cleared the scene.
