Marlin & Rays Replacing Bel Air Ruby Tuesday
The restaurant is expected to open in September.
Bel Air restaurant-goers will soon have a new seafood spot to try.
Marlin & Ray's Seafood is coming to Bel Air, filling the vacancy left when Ruby Tuesday closed its doors July 21, according to Marlin & Rays guest services manager Sam Parker.
"That's looking like it's going to be pretty solid [opening date]," Parker said.
The restaurant will be the first Marlin & Rays location in Maryland and the 12th nationwide.
Parker explained the Ruby Tuesday and Marlin & Rays chains have the same owner and closing the Ruby Tuesday was a step toward balancing the number of both chain locations.
The building is still undergoing significant renovations, but hiring is moving forward. The seafood restaurant is holding daily interviews at the business, located at 593 Baltimore Pike, until hiring is complete most likely by the end of August, Parker said.
Those interested in working at the new restaurant can submit applications online.

We had dinner at a Marlin & Ray's while on a recent road trip. It was just OK, don't get too excited about the "seafood" part in the name.

I have never eaten there, but expect the seafood part to be similar to Joe's Crab Shack. Which is just going to disappoint a true Marylander.

Why can't there be an AMERICAN BUFFET in Bel Air again.. Reasonable priced for seniors and good food. Like Cactus Willies. Over priced leasing pushed them out. Haven't been shopping at Harford Mall since they left, as a lot of other people. Bring back AMERICAN Buffets. :*)

Other lease-holders in strip shopping and malls hate all-you -can eat.The customers rarely shop anywhere else after eating and tied up paking spaces.Other food sellers don't like being near them either.ACYE is a bad business model in an area that dosen't have the lowest of low wage peoplefor workers, the profit margin is too thin. Also 25 years ago or so you had one big eater to maybe 4 or 5 moderate eaters. Now you have tables full of over-eaters,which would be fine if buffets could raise thier prices to reflect this. However once you get past $10 lunch/$13 dinner, half the people who go to buffets will just eat at a junk food place like McDonald's and the other half will just eat at a sit down place.AYCE is dead here in Bel Air and that is a good thing.

Don't care if the seafood is that good or not ,but I have a question for someone who has been there.I see that "endless house salad" is included with alot of their meals.Do they go with the former Ruby tuesday"s make you own or is this a salad served to you like Olive Garden? They have a seafood gumbo and "endless salad "on their menu for $7.99,this (salad bar) was my favorite thing about Ruby Tuesday's.

The salad at the property we dined at was not Ruby Tuesday-style. And, it wasn't the most impressive either.

Thanks for the info, figured it was too good a deal and keep the old style salad bar.Looking at the menu almost half of it is devoted to alcoholic drinks, another way to eat sorta healthy is lost ,along with Baja Fresh across the street.

I think that people should stop leaving negative comments & let others make their own opinions. Marlin & rays goal is to meet all or their customers wants and needs, Their is a great crew at the bel air marlin and rays and I believe every customer that comes in is going to have and amazing experience.

Glad to see Ruby Tuesday closed. They had made a horrible turn for the worse in past years. And the decision to significantly downgrade their Salad Bar was the last straw for me. The Salad Bar is what made me go to RT.
They did it to themselves.
