UPDATE: Motorcyclist Dies After Crash with Harford County Vehicle
A Bel Air man was killed in the crash, police say.
UPDATE (2:15 p.m.)—A Bel Air man died Wednesday when the motorcycle he was driving collided with a dump truck at Harford and Reckord roads.
Around 10:51 a.m. a motorcycle and a Harford County Highways dump truck collided in the 100 block of Reckord Road near the intersection with Harford Road, or MD Route 147, according to Monica Worrell, public information officer with the Harford County Sheriff's Office. Witnesses at the scene told deputies the motorcycle was crossing double yellow lines, Worrell said.
The motorcycle, driven by 24-year-old Samuel Agostini of Bel Air, was driving south on Harford Road when it crashed into the side of the county dump truck driven by a 56-year-old man, she said. The dump truck was on Reckord Road crossing Harford Road when the crash took place.
There was a third vehicle involved in the crash, and the driver of that vehicle was uninjured, police say.
A medevac helicopter responded to the scene and transported Agostini to Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore in serious condition. He was pronounced dead at 12 p.m., according to Worrell.
The dump truck driver was not injured in the crash, Worrell said.
Police closed Harford Road between the bridge in Baltimore County and Mountain Road in Harford County. Reckord Road was also closed in both directions for a period of time Wednesday.
All roads had been reopened to traffic as of 2:15 p.m.
