New Trial Date For Teen Charged With Murder
While Donnell Graham was scheduled to appear in court Thursday, court proceedings involved only lawyers.
The trial date for Donnell Graham, the 17-year-old charged with stabbing to death a blind man inside the victim's Bel Air apartment, has been changed to April, one of his lawyers said. Graham is next scheduled to appear in court for a pretrial hearing in March.
Graham, of the 200 block of Fairwood Road, is charged with first-degree murder and related offenses in the killing of Patrick Xavier Ward, 29, in August. A state prosecutor said Graham admitted to killing Ward.
Graham's lawyers, Samuel Delgado and David Wooten, appeared on his behalf for a scheduling conference and pretrial conference Thursday morning in Harford County Circuit Court.
Both conferences took place behind closed doors in judges' chambers, the first with Judge Emory Plitt and the second with Judge William Carr.
Graham previously had a trial date scheduled for later this month, but that date has been changed to April 16, Delgado told Patch Thursday. A pretrial hearing in the case is scheduled to take place March 1.
"Then we'll see whether this trial will go forward," Delgado said, adding that there is still the possibility for a plea agreement or dismissal.
Along with murder, Graham faces other charges including first-degree assault, two counts of first-degree burglary, two counts of armed robbery, robbery, attempted robbery, theft less than $1,000, attempted theft less than $1,000 and carrying a dangerous weapon with intent to injure.

I certainly support the idea of a fair day in court....but let's just off this guy and move on. What a waste of taxpayers dollars, and by the way where's Seth who is supposedly in support of the kid that shot his dad; nothing over this kid. Gosh what's the reason for that - some of us might suppose?

Yeah, waiting on Seth to educate us with his ignorance on how this is not the kids fault, he will probably say it's the victim's fault and/or he was abusing this killer.
