St. Patrick's Day is days away and many people are in the process of deciding where to celebrate their Irish pride.
The day falls on a Saturday this year, and with a number of local establishments already decking the halls in green, you don't have to go far for a little luck of the Irish this year. Vote in the poll to help decide the best place in Bel Air to celebrate St. Patrick's Day.

I like to hop from one place to another. To me Sean Bolans has always had the most "authentic" Irish atmosphere but it's too dang small lol. Looneys is great especially when they have the tent outside, lots going on and they usually have mobile bars and tubs all over to help deal with the crowd, so it gets my vote.

Just another day for people to over indulge and act like idiots! I find it ironic people choose to celebrate a Saint by drink alcohol in excess starting at 6 am. I'm sure St. Patrick is proud!

I hate Bel Air bars....All it is the young crowd drinking way too much. I would much rather go to a hole in the wall bar where everyone knows my name. No fights no girl drama, just good friends and good times.

I don't know Andy, out of all the bars in Bel Air Looneys seems to have the oldest crowd, particularly when it's the Reagan Years or Never Never playing. You act like everyone in the county is an uncontrolled drunk. There's more to Looneys than just drinking. It's also a good restaurant and place to watch sports and live music. There's nothing wrong with responsible imbibing, particularly if it's just a few times a year. If you don't like the scene, vote with your wallet and don't go there. You don't have to bash everyone else who chooses to. Last I checked this article is asking about where the best place is to celebrate St. Patrick's Day in Bel Air and you haven't suggested anything else other than spew negative comments on the most successful entertainment venue in the county.

And I will add, if you do a demographic on the people who patronize looney's, the average age is 21-35, per the Chamber of Commerce statistics, also with an annual revenue of 7 million. So much for oldest crowd theory. What else you got!

Like anywhere else it depends on the night of the week, who is playing and even the time of day. If a classic rock or country band is playing, it's going to draw an older crowd than other bands who cater to college age kids. You obviously haven't seen the crowd at Magerks or Dark Horse... Of course not everyone likes the Bel Air bar scene and they're entitled to their opinion, just as you are.
My point to all this, was the article states "Where is Bel Air's Best Place To Celebrate St. Patrick's Day?" and up to your last post you had done nothing to contribute positively to that discussion.

I don't know Eric, I do vote with my wallet and I don't go there. Funny, my 26 year old says the exact opposite of your comment. It seems he as well thinks everyone goes there to get drunk, and they have great food too. It's a great place to get loaded!!!! The are very successful, so much so that they contribute to the county thru DWI/DUI arrests and court costs. I was actually there "bought nothing" when Never never played last Saturday, and honestly I don't see your point. So let's just agree to disagree.
As for "spewing" Eric, I would suggest Sean Bolans, McGurks (sp?), or The Mallet. Nothing like a place that opens at 6 am and there is a line of people waiting to start drinking. Let's see how the day turns out, and how many fights or arrests occur after your big day tomorrow.

This comment is laughable - you say "I don't go there" yet in the next lines you say "I was actually there" last Saturday, so which is it? Do you go there or not?
The DUIs are going to happen regardless if Looneys is there or not. People will either drink somewhere else or drink at a party or home. What do you suggest, we outlaw bars or alcohol altogether? Wait, that was called Prohibition and it worked out real well.
I find it ironic you'd actually suggest Bolans, Gerks or The Mallet, ALL of those places have St. Patrick's days specials and serve alcohol too, yet you seem to have something against Looneys. I've seen fights at all those places. At first you post against the entire notion of St. Patrick's Day, then you wind up actually suggesting the other local bars. A little wishy washy are we?
