Readers' Choice: What's The Best Sandwich In Town?

Vote for your favorite place to get a sandwich in Bel Air.

You don't have to go far for to find a great sandwich when you live or work in Bel Air.

But which eatery is the best in the business when it comes providing a savory sandwich? Vote in the poll to help decide.

Here are some of our favorite places, but if you think someone was left out, be sure to tell us in the comments so we can add them to the list:

If your business is listed here, learn how to claim your listing by reading this article.

Voting in the poll below is open until 9 a.m. Friday, and the winner will be announced at noon that day.

    • Because this poll is not scientific, it is not the sole consideration in choosing a winner. The winner will be determined by the Patch editor, based on poll results, positive comments below and in reviews on each of the businesses' Patch Places directory listings (you can reach them by clicking on the businesses above).
    • Please vote only once per survey, per Patch.

(See attached .pdf document for rules)

Vote for your favorite place to grab a sandwich and be sure to tell us why. What's your menu choice? Does the service have anything to do with your patronage? Let us know in the comments and leave a review on the Patch business listing.

@ Jennifer, yes Box Hill Pizza is in Abingdon, however there are a few of places on the list that are not in Bel Air like Tamberino's Pizza & Subs (Hickory) and Manny's (Rock Springs). So it would be only fair to add Wargos and Box Hill Pizza

Any sandwich at Savona is awesome. My personal favorites are the Main Street Muffeletto (not sure of the spelling on that one) and the Lombardia.

I agree Savonas is really good. The downside are their hours. I barely get to go there cause they're only open while I'm at work. Closed Sundays and only open til 4 on Saturdays :(

NY Deli has a killer Reuben.
Tamberino's is great and the subs are large but they are also a little pricey.
I just had the worst sandwich recently from Fritzies. I won't go back there anytime soon.

Yeah, this is a shill. What a joke. Gus's? The crappy convenience store that replaced wawa? Are you kidding me? Carried Away Gourmet, Savona, heck even the bars have better sandwiches than that place. Plus look at these posts with people being so over the top "THE STAFF IS SO FRIENDLY, IN THE HEART OF BEL AIR CAN YOU BELIEVE IT". What a joke.

It is such a shame to see places like Subway, Panera and TGI Fridays on a list like this. Support local business!! It does wonders for the economy. Not to mention you can't get the personal service that you get at places like Little NY or Open Door. And the food is amazing.

If someone really feels that Panera or Subway or Fridays has the best sandwich, then what is wrong with then picking them.

Local does not equal better just as much as a chain does not equal crap?

I never said the food at any chain was "crap". And you are certainly right that everyone is entitled to an opinion. I was merely making a point that Bel Air has some great local businesses.

You man enough to take the challenge. Or you going to let your pride stand in the way of the best crab cake you ever ate? By the way........this is Gus

Posting a link to a consumer poll is not manipulation. You need a dictionary. There is no way to manipulate this as it goes by IP address, so unless someone from gus's went to 709 different computers to vote it cannot be manipulated. I put links to the patch on facebook all of the time. Am I manipulating my friends into clicking on the link and reading what I offer?

@purpleneons, you are a bitter person, and honestly an a!!hole. Gus Sikalis is a good man, honest and hardworking. Nothing is manipulated or dishonest, except maybe you're comments. Do everyone a favor and go eat where you want, I'm sure Gus don't need or want you're money, and we wouldn't want to have to eat our food around a nimrod like you. Notice I use my real name and don't hide behind a fictitious one. And for the record, the Sikalis family has been in the food and catering business for well over 40 years and their famous crab cake has been a favorite since the day's of the Golden Forty Rest

He will give you your money back and do whatever possible to get you to try again. He has been in business for over 30 years now so something must be right!
