Snow, Sleet Forecasted for Harford Friday
The National Weather Service reports that the wintry mix is slated to begin after noon in Harford County.
Those planning to leave the office for lunch may want to stay indoors Friday.
The National Weather Service predicts that rain and sleet are likely to start after noon.
Snow and sleet accumulation are anticipated to be less than half an inch, with temperatures near 39, according to the weather agency. The rain and snow are expected to return after midnight, and a precipitation amount of less than a tenth of an inch is possible.

Did you miss Science class?? It is impossible for sleet to accumulate in an environment of 39 degrees. The Weather Channel doesn't predict the temperature in Harford County to even approach 32 degrees until after 6PM. Maybe at 39 degrees it will be so wet that they will have another excuse to close schools early.

Would somebody please think of the children?!?!?

Seems most people are too cranky to think about the safety of the kids. Probably the same ones too cranky to fund public education too.

"Think of the children"...the liberal battle cry that justifies all pseudo intellectual thoughts or words. At 39.....it will be rain and nothing else. If the "children" bathe at all does that mean someone is holding an umbrella over them while they're in the shower? The forecast holds today as it did yesterday from the National Weather Service 39 at noon, down to 34 by about 6 and then dipping around 32 only to rise up to 37 again about 9. Will the "concerned parents" keep them in the house or prohibit them from travelling once the little darlings are out of school? I think not!!!!

I'm sure school will be closed---it's Friday & the teachers get another 3 day weekend...
Listen I have teachers for neighbors on both sides of my house.......I know how it works.

The problem with that theory is that the teachers aren't the ones that make that decision.

Hey Matt, was that a Simpsons reference? If so, it was well placed. Thank you my good man. Hahaha

I am pretty sure HCPS will keep the kids in school the conditions do not seem to warrant a early dismissal
