Very life changing experience Suzanne. I have been through it twice and had to leave my job after 8 years I feared for my life and decided it was not worth it.

The M&T Bank branch that I frequent got robbed twice and finally installed counter to ceiling bullet proof glass. They have not been hit since. I see more banks going this route. Damn shame, but its just par for the course in todays world. I also feel for those subjected to this insanity. It has to be a life changing event knowing your life could end at the hands of a lunatic.

seriously? 2 times in 3 weeks. What will the bank do to stop this from happening again? Are they just an easy target or what? Close down, move locations... install glass something. I certainly would have to think twice about working there if this was always happening. I feel badly for the employees.

There's been a rash of holdups in this area lately, all with the same suspect description: A while male wearing workman's clothing, with some sort of headgear and his face covered. Banks, stores in Greenbrier, the Benson post office, all held up by a guy fitting this description. Betcha this is a local drug addict. I hope this fool is either captured or killed soon, before he hurts somebody during one of these robberies.
My condolences to people who've experienced this...it's gotta be tough.

The amazing part of this story is that when the bank got robbed, 2 State Troopers were running radar a mile down the road at their daily spot SB on Rt 924 after Wheel Rd. Its always about the money and not protecting people. As a former bank manager in a jurisdiction where the police were more concerned about public safety than raising money, it was always nice to see the deputy walk in a few times a day just to say hello.

Police don't "protect people" (or "prevent crime"), rather, police primarily enforce law and investigate crime.

Police are crime scene clean up. They don't protect anyone.

Otto, in MD maybe, I have traveled extensively throughout this country. The police "mission" is much different in other places throughout the Country.

Bullet proof glass, this wolf will still take his sheep whether or not a fence is there. You need a sheep dog, whether it is a law enforcement officer standing guard during business hours, contracted security, and/or armed employees.
Employees of banks have a higher chance of risking their life, and they have no means to protect themselves.

Until the laws change from being so lenient this situation is not going to change but worsen.
