Threat Yields Evacuation Of Harford County District Court

A bomb threat was called in around 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.

The state office building in Bel Air that houses Harford County District Court was evacuated Tuesday morning in response to a bomb threat.

No device or immediate danger was found in the Mary Risteau Multi-Service Center at 2 S. Bond Street, however.

The threat was called in around 8:30 a.m. and courthouse staff decided to evacuate the building, Bel Air Police Chief Leo Matrangola said. Bel Air officers assisted in the evacuation.

A canine unit from the Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office searched the building and found nothing out of the ordinary, Matrangola said.

The search was completed around 9:40 a.m. and people were then allowed to return to the building, Matrangola said.

Probably someone didn't want to go to jury duty today. Hope they find who was behind it.
