Nothing like having set times to abide by for halloween. The kids will get their candy after I arrive home from work & able to eat my dinner in peace & not have the doorbell ring...... Dislike it when my light is off & the doorbell still rings. Just plain rude!

I've also noticed a lot of debris on streets, sidewalks and driveways. May put a damper on my giving out candy this year. I have no time as I work to clean up the mess from the storm. I'm sure their are others in the same predictament. Don't want anyone falling on a pinecone or slipping on leaves & suing me. I think I just might cancel tick-or-treating at my house this year!

How are we going to turn our lights on for the kids?

Wow lots of negativity! Keep your lights out if it is that big of a problem for you!! Guess you were never a kid!

Wow, they are kids. Maybe those of you that have issues need to just leave your lights out. The set times are for their safety. I don't think that I'd want to take your candy.... Life goes on people. Obviously if you're working then they found it safe enough for you to drive on the roads.

And parents will use common sense. They obviously aren't going to take their kids into a neighborhood that doesn't have electricity. Wow people. There's what 1000 w/o power compared to 100,000.... Good gracious.

Electricity or not, if your door is open the kids will come. I'm sure most people have candles so light them up for the children to visit.
