Two Teens Flown to Hopkins After Car Crashes Into Tree

The incident occurred on Bynum Ridge Road.

Two 14-year-olds were flown to Johns Hopkins Pediatric Hospital by Medevac on Saturday at about 7:20 p.m. after the 1985 Mercury Capri they were passengers in crashed into a tree along Bynum Ridge Road in Bel Air.

Steven Robert Strike, 19, of the 1400 block of St. Francis Road in Bel Air, was driving the Mercury when it skidded into a tree as he tried to avoid a 2004 Ford truck that had stopped in front of him, according to a police report. The accident occurred near Marshall Drive.

Christopher Lee Greer, 21, of the 2000 block of Cox Road in Jarrettsville, was driving the Ford with three passengers.

Two of Strike's three passengers—Bailey Adam Steele of the 400 block of East Clemens Street in Baltimore and Kayla Annmarie Teague-Wells of the 1400 block of Bowles Terrace in Bel Air, both 14—were flown to the hospital for injuries sustained in the crash.

Strike and his third passenger, Shayla Brianna Graves, 13, of the 700 block of Kirkcaldy Way in Abingdon, were also injured but were not taken to the hospital.

Greer and his three passengers were not hurt and neither driver was impaired, according to the report.
