Unopposed Candidates Have Easy Night
A few of the county's incumbents were not contested in their bid for re-election.
Three candidates at the county level were unopposed to retain their seats in Tuesday's election.
President of the County Council Billy Boniface, Clerk of the Circuit Court James Reilly and State's Attorney Joseph Cassilly did not receive significant opposition from write-in votes and will return to office.
Boniface will be serving his second consecutive four-year term as county council president. He did face a challenge from write-in Democratic challenger Joseph Delozier, who was not listed on the ballot.
Reilly will be serving his third consecutive term as clerk of the circuit court.
Cassilly has been the county's state's attorney since 1983.
