Gus's Deli Mart closed suddenly in June and the Bel Air property has remained vacant ever since.

The building, located at 306 South Main Street, has a prime location in town just a short distance from Bel Air High School, county office buildings and Main Street shops.

The 38,942 square foot building is currently owned by Bel Air Main Limited
Partnership LLLP, according to online property records. It was first built in 1961.

The location most recently served the area as a convience store and was a Wawa before Gus's took over.

The building is currently for lease, according to a sign posted in the store's front window.

What business do you think would be a good fit for this commercial property? Tell us in the comments.

Susan,
This suggestion is a winner. A Dave & Busters would be a great fit for Harford County.

I agree with Raylentless. Looney's appeals to all ages and families can go there with kids and seniors can go and feel comfortable, then the funseekers can go for the singles scene.

Agreed. It would be really nice if they had an outdoor dining section like MaGerks.

A bar. But a bar that plays good music outside of the top 40 (local submitted playlists would be awesome, you could even pair up with CODA for release events), serves a decent selection of good beers and micro brews. It would be nice if it had a couple pool tables. It shouldn't have a dance floor but should have plenty of sitting areas. Just a more relaxed bar environment akin to Sean Bolans just with more sitting area.

I think Looney's should expand since the parking lot is filled with their patrons anyway. Also Expanding could add room for pool tables and other entertainment.

I know for a fact that the town already went out of their way to let Looney's know that they would never approve any expansion. Who needs jobs and taxes..

After a 2 year fight. My point was, they went out of their way to inform Looney's when looney's wasn't even planning it..

How about a public bathroom for all of the drunks who are peeing on the sidewalk or behind peoples' houses?

Good one, Penelope. Policing at it's finest; letting the drunkards break the laws over and over again. I'm sure after they relieve themselves they get into their cars.

In my opinion, either expansion of Looney's since their patrons consume all parking, or a Dunkin Donuts. The 2 closest DDs are Churchville or near DuClaw.
