Welcome back, Patch Blogger!

Where In Harford Do You Buy Sporting Goods?

Patch asks readers for the best spot for sporting goods in Harford County.

Sporting good stores come in all shapes and sizes.

Some carry virtually everything sporty that you'd need. Many more are sport- or activity-specific.

This week, we decided to keep an open mind to what some might consider a sporting goods store, and we also decided to keep the question open to all sporting goods businesses in Harford County—rather than in each individual municipality.

So this week we pull together the readership from the three Patch sites in Harford County to find your favorite spot to shop for sporting goods.

Here are some of the places you've recommended already, but if we're leaving anyone off of the list, please let us know in the comments and we'll add it:

Voting in the poll below is open until 9 a.m. Friday.

  • Because this poll is not scientific, it is not the sole consideration in choosing a winner. The winner will be determined by the Patch editor, based on poll results, positive comments below and in reviews on each of the businesses' Patch Places directory listings (you can reach them by clicking on the businesses above).
  • Please vote only once per survey, per Patch.

If your business is listed here, learn how to claim your listing for free by reading this article.

We will announce the winner at noon Friday.

So tell us which is your favorite place to go to find the sporting goods you need. And don't forget to tell us why in the comments below.

The bicycle connection in bel air. The staff is awesome and the products are amazing. High quality without the high price tag. Best bike shop in the bel air area!!!

This survey has too wide of a spectrum. It is unfair to judge a store that specializes say in bikes, to Dick's sporting goods that sells merchandise in all sports in a big box facility. This is like comparing WaWa to Wegman's.

Ruffin is right. There really isn't so much a thing as a "sporting goods" store anymore except for a handful of big box chains. The smaller more specialized shops are often where you find the better products, more knowledgeable staff, and in many cases, a better price. When you venture into repair service, there is almost never a comparison.

Ruffin & Biller's — I'd agree. We'll look to do a more specialized series —i.e. Bike shops, running shops, etc. — in the coming weeks.

Thanks,
Sean

I have suggestions for "sporting goods" as far as Paintball/ Airsoft, Survival Gear, Tactical Gear, outdoor gear, etc if and when the specialized series start.
