Wife Seeks Answers in Bel Air Man's Death
A Bel Air man was found dead June 14 outside his apartment building in the 800 block of Old English Court.
Police are investigating the June 14 death of a Bel Air man, and his wife is desperate for answers.
Titus Onuoha was found dead outside his apartment in the 800 block of Old English Court in Bel Air on June 14.
Onuoha's wife, Joy Onuoha, said detectives told her that her husband suffered trauma to the back of his head and neck, and she believes her husband met a violent end.
A police spokesman would not say if the injuries were related to foul play.
"It’s still under investigation," Sgt. Jim Lockard with the Bel Air Police Department said. "Right now it’s pending the autopsy results from the medical examiners office."
Joy Onuoha said her husband was living by himself in the Bel Air apartment for work reasons while she and their four children, ages 13, 12, 6 and 3, stayed in Texas.
She said her husband arrived home from work and she knows from talking to acquaintances that he took part in a conference call from about 9-11:48 p.m. June 13.
She explained her husband, a U.S. citizen, was working out details in the call for a fundraiser benefiting the Nigerian town he and his wife are from.
"Around 3 a.m. [neighbors] heard commotion in the apartment," Joy Onuoha said.
About four hours later police were called to the apartment building.
"An anonymous caller had called that my husband was laying in the grass of the lawn of the apartment complex," Joy Onuoha said.
She said her husband was pronounced dead at Upper Cheasapeake Medical Center in Bel Air a short time later.
"Every day I feel worse, knowing he is not coming back makes me feel terrible," Joy Onuoha said.
Onuoha said her husband was a kind, quiet man who loved his family and was satisfied with his job working as a geologist on Aberdeen Proving Ground.
"My husband he loves his family, he loves me, he loves his children, he’s not going to kill himself he has a lot to live for," Joy Onuoha said.
She went on to say that her husband was strong and healthy and finds it unlikely that he fell out of his apartment window.
"I do not know what happened to him and it’s more scary."
