Bel Air football head coach David Huryk discusses his interests on and off the field.
David Huryk discusses his illustrious teen soccer career, his favorite NFL team and what kind of car he drives. The Bel Air Bobcats head football coach is hoping to improve his team's 5–5 record from 2010. They shut out the National Academy Foundation in Week 1, but have dropped a pair of games since.
Patch: What is the last movie you saw in the theaters?
David Huryk: I saw "The Notebook" with my wife.
P: What is your favorite food?
DH: Diablo pasta from Bonefish Grill. It's phenomenal. It's why I'm 195 pounds instead of 185.
P: Where did you go to college and what did you major in?
DH: Carnegie Mellon. Biology degree with a specialty in research genetics.
P: What is something your players don't know about you?
DH: I was one step below being on the 18 and under national [soccer] team.
P: What is your favorite band?
DH: Red Hot Chili Peppers. They were really big when I was in college.
P: If you weren't teaching you would be doing...
DH: ...research genetics, as dorky as that sounds.
P: Who is your favorite NFL team?
DH: San Francisco 49ers.
P: What kind of car do you drive?
DH: 2002 black Volkswagen Jetta.
P: What is your shoe size?
DH: 12
P: What is your favorite kind of chewing gum?
DH: I don't chew gum—it gives me headaches.
