Year in Review: Student Charged With Rape September
Bel Air Patch looks back at the biggest stories of the year.
The rape of a 14-year-old girl and charging of her classmate quickly caught the attention of local readers after Patch first broke the story in September.
Kyle Burnett Reddish, 16, of the 200 block of Kensington Parkway in Abingdon, was charged on Sept. 21 with the rape of a fellow Patterson Mill High School student, age 14, according to charging documents.
Other media outlets quickly picked up the story and comments flooded the Bel Air Patch site with numbers reaching over 100.
Reddish is accused of sexually assaulting the girl while she was intoxicated, the night after he kicked the winning field goal in the football game against crosstown rival Bel Air.
The girl's brother allegedly attacked Reddish at school the Monday after the incident, according to police reports and Reddish's lawyer. Reddish's trial is scheduled to take place March 8 in Harford County Circuit Court.

Innocent until proven guilty!!! Not that I am defending this young man, however he is a juvenile and his name along with his accusers should have not been published!

He is currently charged as an adult so for this matter the law sees him as an adult, at least for now. I agree with you, he has not been found guilty. The charges are strictly accusations and a verdict will be determined in court. Nothing in the article states he is guilty, just that he has been accused of these crimes. Patch usually does not publish the names of sexual assault victims. The girl referred to in the story is not published here.
