The annual summer concert at Aberdeen Proving Ground is Aug. 11.
Aberdeen Proving Ground is still in Maryland, and there are plenty of New Jersey natives working inside the gates. But on Aug. 11, APG will belong to Boston and Kansas. The classic rock bands will headline the annual summer concert at Shine Field on Aberdeen Proving Ground. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased through the Aberdeen Proving Ground Morale, Welfare and Recreation office. See the YouTube clips with this post for songs from the bands. The official website for Kansas shows the date and location on the band's tour schedule. Boston's website, however, doesn't have the date listed, but there is an open date on the tour calendar between a shows in Pittsburgh and Bethelhem, PA. Last year's concert featured Lynyrd Skynyrd and the …

The pair will dance in the Alzheimer's Association's Baltimore Memory Ball.
A dynamic local duo has teamed up to raise money for the Alzheimer's Association—one dance step at a time. Renee Wooding, 51, of Timonium and Juan Alzamora, 43, of Forest Hill are honing their moves for the Alzheimer's Association's Memory Ball which will take place April 14. The "Dancing Stars" theme of the ball brings together local celebrities from Baltimore and the surrounding area to raise money for the association. Wooding, former president of the Alzheimer's Association board, decided participating in the event would be a good way to support the association and signed up. Not long after that, Lydia Haskell, Bel Air resident and owner of The Fitness Rave in Middle River, set Wooding up with her dance partner. Alzamora is a project …

Here's a weekly photograph from around the Bel Air Patch area.
Here are a few recent shots from the Bel Air area that I was fond of. With spring officially upon us, a few simple shots of flowers, trees and nature in bloom were on my photographic agenda this Tuesday and Wednesday. I started this column with a mind to share some of my own shots from around town on a regular basis. I'd also love to see what kind of photos you are taking these days. Feel free to upload pictures that carry the theme here or are completely unrelated and we can go from there. Have your own photos from around town? Please, do share. Just click the upload button to start the process.
