For those looking for a few things to do over the next few weeks check out the following:
1. The BAVFC will host its first car wash on Saturday Sept 24th from 9am until 2pm to the rear of the Main Street Tower on Burns Alley. This is their second attempt due to rain and hopefully this Saturday will cooperate. The BAVFC is asking for a $5 donation per car which will go toward maintenance and upkeep of their antique Mack fire engine.
2. The Harford County Vol Fire and EMS Association will be having a public hearing on its QA/QI standards on Wednesday Sept 28th at 6:30pm at the Whiteford VFC on Route 165. The changes in this particular standard has been made at the request of the Maryland Institute for Emergency Medical Services Systems, aka MIEMSS. These standards are close to 10 years in age and their changes will be discussed during this hearing.
3. The BAVFC will be hosting its annual open house in celebration of Fire Prevention Week on October 15th beginning at 11am at their main fire station on South Hickory Avenue in Bel Air. Parking is free at the town garage and there will be a something for everyone in the family to see. Each year gets bigger and bigger and crowds fill the station quickly so get their early. Follow their Twitter feeds @belairvolfireco for more details on events for that day.
