Meteor Shower, BBQ Bash, Wieners: What's Happening in Bel Air

Check out the top five things you need to know today in Bel Air.

It's Saturday, August 9. Here's what you need to know.

1. WEATHER & TIDES » It's likely to be an overcast weekend with forecasts calling for partly cloudy skies through Tuesday. Read more here.

If you're looking to hit the water, know that Saturday's tides in Havre de Grace are as follows: high tide at 12:40 a.m. and 12:36 p.m.; low tides at 7 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. Find tides around the Bay by searching here.

2. AROUND TOWN » The 12th annual Maryland State BBQ Bash will continue from noon until 10 p.m. Saturday in the parking lot of Harford County District Court. Swing by for tasty eats, live music and local vendors at this barbecue-themed street festival.

This weekend is also the peak time to see the Perseid meteor shower.

Got an event you're trying to promote? Whether it's registration for little league or a show your band is playing, a great way to start would be adding it to the Bel Air Patch calendar.

3. YOU SAID IT » Check out what your local bloggers are saying through our weekly roundup here.

Got something you want to say? Something you want to sell? Post it on our boards or leave a comment on a story! Who knows? Maybe we'll feature it in one of these round-ups.

4. WHAT YOU MISSED »You may have missed a profile on local business owner, Christopher Moore, of Moore Wieners.
