SIAB Prepares Another Sell-Out Event

The newly formed "Society of Italian American Businessmen" hosted their 1st Annual Spring Gala on Friday, April 11th at the Richlin Ballroom in Edgewood, MD.  It was an important evening for the fledgling organization, with the Guest of Honor being the Saint Margaret Parish Outreach Ministries as their first ever chosen Charitable Giving Recipient.

As the doors opened, arriving guests discovered a wide array of one-of-a-kind silent auction items, interactive open-air photo area featuring TapSnap, wine and cordial tastings, and a Cocktail Reception featuring 5 of the area’s top Italian Restaurants.  Enotria’s, Giovanni’s, La Cucina, Liberatore’s, and Main Street Tower were front and center as they each put their signature dishes on display for everyone to sample.  During this time the ballroom was filled with the sounds of authentic Italian music.  The result was nothing short of spectacular.

As everyone would soon realize this was only the beginning of a very special evening!    The most important part of the Gala evening and the reason why S.I.A.B. came into existence was to give back to the community. With all of the organization’s officers on hand, Msgr. Michael Schleupner, of Saint Margaret Parish, received the very first Charitable Giving check in S.I.A.B. history.  In a very emotional moment, a $10,000 donation was presented to Msgr. Schleupner for   the Saint Margaret Parish Outreach Ministries pictured below.  It was a heart-warming and rewarding experience for everyone involved and everyone in attendance as well.

After the Charitable Giving Presentation the guests were treated to an amazing seated dinner by the Richlin Ballroom staff.  After the Cocktail Reception, many people could not believe there was a dinner being served!  That’s dinner Italian-style!  As people enjoyed the music being performed and the dinner being served, the ballroom came alive as one big happy family.

With dinner complete, dessert was served and the dancing began courtesy of The Klassix.  Throughout the rest of the evening guests would dance the night away, bid on their favorite silent auction items while sipping on wine and cordial tastings and embracing the magic of the evening.  Open bar continued throughout the night and people enjoyed authentic Italian espresso as well.
