3 Girls Charged in Bomb Threats; Wolkow Not Returning

Wegmans is set to bring an influx of new jobs to the county, while another underage party was busted by police.

In an eventful week for Harford County, Monday's bomb threat culprits were ousted, the county's proposed budget was unveiled and a local high school received exposure on a national level.

1. 3 Girls Charged for Monday's Bomb Scare

After suspicious phone calls seven area middle and high schools on Monday, . It was confirmed on Thursday that the calls were bomb threats, and that an investigation between the and led to the arrests of the girls.

2. Craig Maintains Tax Rates in Proposed Harford County Budget

County Executive David Craig unveiled his proposed fiscal year 2012 budget Friday. It includes no tax hikes for citizens, and no layoffs or raises for county employees. The County Council begins its work sessions next week.

3. Wolkow Says He will Not Return as Board President

Mark Wolkow after his tenure as president ends June 30. Wolkow will be replaced by a gubernatorial appointment.

4. Underage Party Busted in Jarrettsville, Mother was Home

A March 26 party bust in Jarrettsville . Homeowner Jennifer Kuyawa said that she was aware her 18-year-old daughter and 19-year-old son were having a party, but did not know there was alcohol. She has not been charged, and only two people at the party questioned were 21 or older.

5. Now Hiring: Wegmans Accepting Applications for 550 New Workers

Ahead of the Sept. 18 opening for the Abingdon store, , with all but 50 of the hirings being new to Wegmans. Company spokeswoman Jo Natale said that she wants the store to not just be a Bel Air or Abingdon store, but reach the entire county.
