BGE Reports Power Outages in Festival Shopping Center

A spokeswoman said all customers should have their electricity back by 4 p.m.

The Festival Shopping Center in Bel Air, along with 2,200 other customers, lost electricity around 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Rachael Lighty, a spokesperson for BGE, said the outages are affecting about 2,200 customers, many of whom should have their power back by 3 p.m. The rest of the customers should have power restored by 4 p.m., Lighty said.

Harford County officials said the outages are also affecting the traffic lights at the intersections of Route 24 and Wheel Road, as well as Route 24 and Bel Air South Parkway. Drivers are urged to used caution when traveling in this area.

BGE said crews are still investigating what caused the outages, most of which occurred in the area of Route 24 and Emmorton Road in Bel Air.
