Blueberries ... and 600 Pounds of Pancake Batter
Bel Air's annual July 4th blueberry pancake and sausage breakfast runs until 11 a.m.
Harold Boccia has been running the Fourth of July breakfast for 16 years, but he still isn’t sure how many pancakes he needs.
“It’s a crapshoot,” said Boccia, a Bel Air resident. “You have to guess how many people are going to show up.”
Quality counts just as much as quantity, though.

“That was fantastic,” said one of the first men to finish his breakfast, giving the cooks two thumbs up.
The Bel Air Lions Club is cooking blueberry and plain pancakes from about 600 pounds of dry batter.

- 700 cups of milk
- 2,000 cups of coffee
“We’re starting off awful slow,” Boccia said at 7:25 a.m.
