Feeding The Ducks At Bel Air's Bynum Pond

Members of the Bel Air community feed the ducks and geese at Bynum Run Pond Tuesday.

Just one week shy from his seventh birthday, Connor Barton of Forest Hill cautiously feeds eager ducks and geese at Bynum Run Pond in Bel Air.

Barton and his grandmother, Joyce Hoffmann of Bel Air, strolled to the pier at park located off Churchville Road Tuesday afternoon laden with two bags filled with bread crumbs.

"He loves coming here, he raids my refrigerator for all the bread he can find," Hoffmann said.

Barton is tentative and strategic when feeding the animals, however, because a hungry goose bit him on the finger during a previous outing, Hoffmann said.

Geese an ducks at Bynum Run Pond, colloquially referred to by Bel Air residents as the duck pond, are certainly familiar with being fed by the public and flock to an area where snacks are being shared.
