PETS: Smurfette, Aaliyah and Olive Need Homes

The Humane Society of Harford County recommends the pets of the week.

From the Humane Society of Harford County:
Cat of the Week: Smurfette

Age: 3 years
Color: Brown, black & white
Breed: Domestic short hair
Gender: Female
Adoption Fee: $95
Hi, I’m Smurfette, and I’m a really cute female kitty. I love soft scratches behind my ears. I also love to lounge on my soft blankets and get visits from the staff and volunteers here at the shelter. But what I want most is a home I can call my very own. I dream about a sunny windowsill where I can curl up and bask in the light; a place where there are birds in the yard that I can watch and where there are toys and the occasional treat. If you can give me these things, let’s meet!

Dog of the Week: Aaliyah
Age: 7 years
Color: Red
Breed: Chow Chow mix
Gender: Female
Adoption Fee: $95
Hi, my name is Aaliyah, and I am a beautiful, fluffy 7-year-old Chow Chow. I am such a sweetie pie, and I get a long quite well with other dogs. In fact, I’m sharing a kennel with 3 other dogs right now. I like to go for walks and have my long coat brushed. I want to be your faithful companion and friend. Would you please come and take me out for a walk and see how sweet and gentle I am? I promise you won’t be disappointed!

Other: Olive
Age: 9 months
Color: Brown
Breed: Rabbit
Gender: Male
Adoption Fee: $50
Hello, my name is Olive, and I am an adorable 9-month-old little guy who came to the shelter as a stray. I am very sweet and soft, and I enjoy being rubbed between my ears. Before adopting me, you should designate and rabbit-proof a play area in your home for me. A baby gate or an indoor play yard will work just fine. I will need a minimum of 30 hours per week outside of the cage. Come and see me in the Critter Cottage and see how soft and lovable I am!
