Effects of Storm Linger in Harford County

Get info on road closures, power outages.

The storm that whipped through Maryland Tuesday night did a number on the region, killing a camper in Carroll County and tipping over trees elsewhere.

Harford County Emergency Management said these roadways were closed as of 9:30 a.m. Wednesday:

  • Miller Road, between Burkins Road and Grier Nursery Road
  • Thomas Run Road, between Pennington Road and Kalmia Road
  • Harmony Church Road, between Nobles Mill Road and Deths Ford Road
  • Boyd Road, near the Scarboro Road intersection
  • OPEN as of 11:45 a.m. (East Franklinville Road, between Woods End Drive and Sycamore Drive)
More than 1,300 BGE customers in Harford County were without power as of 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday, according to the utility company. Fewer than five Delmarva customers were out.

Approximately 3,400 people in Harford County were without power at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, according to BGE. Another 100 Delmarva Power customers were out as well.

Harford County Emergency Management urged drivers to be careful on the roads, as trees and other debris may have fallen. Maryland State Police reminds drivers that intersections where traffic lights are out should be treated as four-way stops.
