Route 924 Scheduled for Weekend Closure

The Maryland Department of Transportation Authority plans to close Route 924 between Woodsdale Road and Route 24 at 11 p.m. Friday.

Route 924 is expected to be closed between Woodsdale Road and Route 24 beginning at 11 p.m. Friday.

Passenger vehicles will be detoured to Singer Road while trucks weighing five tons or more will be detoured to Wheel Road until Monday at 5 a.m., when the state anticipates reopening the road. The construction site is adjacent to the Constant Friendship Shopping Center.

"Detour signs and portable electronic message signs will be installed to help inform and guide motorists," reads a press release from the Maryland Transportation Authority.

The release adds that shopping centers will be accessible through the aforementioned detour routes.

In approximately one month, traffic on Route 24 will shift so that construction can begin on a bridge to overpass Route 924 and Singer Road. (See PDF for image.)
