Bel Air Man Takes Spin on Wheel of Fortune

Alain Chalmin of Bel Air took home $3,000 from his game show appearance.

A Bel Air man bought some vowels on TV this week.

Alain Chalmin, 45, hosted a watch party at his Harford County home Tuesday night where his friends saw him compete on Wheel of FortuneThe Aegis reported.

Chalmin racked up $3,000 in winnings for correctly guessing "visitor center" with the clue of "place" in the tossup after round two, according to fan blog Wheel of Fortune Recaps.

Chalmin, who is the eighth grade assistant principal at Deep Creek Middle School in Essex, told The Aegis he planned to use the money to send his daughter to sleep-away camp.

It takes four months after the show airs for contestants to receive their winnings, according to Wheel of Fortune.

This was the second time in the past three months that a Harford County resident has won money on Wheel of Fortune. According to The Baltimore Sun, Shari Bailey of Edgewood won more than $60,000 on the show that aired Sept. 25, including a trip to Nicaragua. She reportedly said she planned to use some of the money to pay off her student loans.
