Air National Guard History Day

You see the aircraft fly over your neighborhoods, at the beginning of football games and over 4th of July parades. You hear of its deployment overseas and for humanitarian efforts. Now discover the history of the Maryland Air National Guard, its beginning and its future at a history symposium presented by the 175th Wing of the Air Guard and the Maryland Aviation Museum. The event is being held at the 175th Wing Dining Hall on the Warfield Air National Guard Base at Martin State Airport.


Panel discussions bring to life its journey from its beginnings in 1929 through to the 21st century. The 10am panel features former Commanders and Chiefs from 1940's through to 2000. The 1pm panel features former Commanders and Chiefs from 2000 - 2012 to discuss the Air Guard's missions overseas and its humanitarian efforts in the USA. During the 11:30am break, there will be a tour of the Air Guard's static aircraft and photo displays.


This is a free event. However, reservations are required for entry onto the air base by calling 410-682-6122.
