Bus Tips from Harford County Public Schools

Transportation pointers for the 2013–2014 school year are here.

By: Elizabeth Janney

As students get into the groove of a new routine, the bus schedules too will take some time to adapt, Harford County Public Schools advised in a prepared statement.

Most bus routes and schedules have changed since last year due to transportation changes within the school system. Find your bus schedule here.

The school system offered these pointers to ease the transition:

Students who plan to use school transportation should begin taking the bus on the first day of school for scheduling and passenger count purposes.

Elementary school students should be at the bus stop at least five minutes before scheduled pickup time.

Students should be at the bus stop at least 10 minutes before their scheduled pickup time if they attend the following:

  • Alternative education program
  • Magnet programs
After school, students may return home later at the start of the school year until they adjust to the new routine, at which point there will be a regular drop-off time.

Parents with questions about bus stops or route schedules may contact the Harford County Public Schools Transportation Department at 410-638-4092.
