ATHLETES! Break Through Lift Barrier With Speed Work

Learn how athletes can use speed training to improve performance in the weight room and athletic field/court

Hey Bel Air athletes, are you frustrated with your progress in the weight room or the athletic field/court?

It may be that you are not fast enough. So many times we get caught up in focusing on the muscle to do all the work while ignoring the role of the nervous system. Try incorporating some speed days into your training. Use a weight that is around a little less then your max and do some VERY explosive reps.

Don't get caught up into lowering the weight slowly like a bodybuilder. Think faster down, faster up. Some popular lifts to do this with are the squat, bench and deadlift. Stick to sets of 2 in the squat, 3 in the bench and 1 in the deadlift. Do this for several weeks and watch your explosiveness on the field or court go through the roof. Feel free to leave a question in the comments section if you have any questions!
