UPDATE: Belcamp Crash Kills 1, Injures 3

UPDATE: (11:38 a.m. Friday)—A head-on collision in the area of Brass Mill Road and Mercedes Drive in Belcamp killed a teenage girl and injured three other people Thursday night, police said.

Around 8:52 p.m. a pickup truck and a passenger car were driving in opposite directions on Mercedes Drive when the two vehicles crashed head-on at the intersection with Brass Mill Road, Edward Hopkins, spokesman for the Harford County Sheriff's Office,  said.

Preliminary on-scene investigation indicates the car crossed the centerline, Hopkins said. Speed may also have been a factor, according to a release.

Jenna Nicole Pollock, 15, of Aberdeen, was declared dead at the scene,  according to a release from the sheriff's office. She was a passenger in the car at the time of the crash.

Two other passengers in the car were seriously injured, according to a release from the sheriff's office.

The second car passenger was flown by medevac helicopter to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, while the third passenger was taken by Abingdon ambulance to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center in Baltimore, according to a release from the sheriff's office.

The driver of the pick-up truck was taken to Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, the release states.

The driver of the pickup and the third passenger had been released from the hospital as of Friday morning and the second passenger was expected to be released later in the day, a release states.

Deputies were at the scene conducting crash reconstruction at 10 p.m. Thursday. The intersection remained closed to traffic for several hours Thursday night.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing and police have not released the name of the driver.

This is the first fatal accident on county roadways in 2013.
